Daily Schedule

A Daily Schedule assists parents, staff and children in being familiar with a routine and establishes a secure environment for the children. At the same time, we must be ﬂexible and change if there is a spontaneous occurrence indoors or outdoors, a special visitor, etc. Life is never predictable at all times; neither is life in a Montessori environment. Our prime concern is that there be enough structure/routine so the children have a sense of order and develop a feeling of security. When these are met, they can be free within the limits of the community.

7:30 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.	Early Arrival in the ExtendaCare Room
8:15 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.	Arrival time: Assistants at Foster Ave. gate Teachers in Classrooms
8:15 a.m. – 11 a.m.	Free Activity period (includes individual snack time)
11 a.m. – 11:10 a.m.	Transition – Clean-Up Time
11:10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.	Cultural Enrichment / Group Activities (Music/Stories)
11:30 a.m. – Noon	Outdoor Play for Noon Dismissal Children
Noon – 12:15 p.m.	Dismissal for Noon Children: From Iron Gate by Assistants
11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.	Lunch for all Afternoon Children
12:15 p.m. – 12:45 p.m.	Outdoor Play for all Afternoon Children
12:45 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.	ExtendaCare: Naptime / Quiet Activity / Snack Extended Day Montessori: Rest Time / Work Period
2:30 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.	Dismissals: From Iron Gate by Teachers
2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.	ExtendaCare: Snack / Circle / Outdoors / Free Activity. Dismissal from room or backyard as parents arrive.

Casa follows the Austin Independent School Districtʼs calendar for holidays and most staff development days. We begin and end the year a bit later than A.I.S.D.
